Maine HS Hockey – Early season highlights: Edward Little scores a pair of big early wins


Class A

Lake District / Fryeburg / Oxford Hills 7, Scarborough 5

Owen Galligan scored five goals to lead the Ice Cats to a victory over the Red Storm at USM Ice Arena in Gorham. Wyatt knight and Kadan Neureuther each scored for Lake Region / Fryeburg / Oxford Hills. Caleb Micklon got three assists. Noah Grant made 30 saves in the win.

Sam rumelhart scored two goals and two assists for Scarborough, while Will fallona, Jordan sheppard and Olin Pederson each scored a goal. Chris Lafferty stopped eight shots in the defeat.

Edward Little 4, Biddeford / Massabesic / Old Orchard 0

Campbell Cassidy and Brody Keefe each had two points for the Red Eddies’ 4-0 win over Biddeford / Massabesic / Old Orchard. Cassidy had one goal and one assist while Keefe had two assists.

André Clement and Wesley clement each had a goal. Jack keefe also scored. Gage Ducharme made 22 saves for the shutout. Deryk Boles made 31 saves in the losing effort.

Edward Little 7, Portland / Deering 1

Aiden González had a hat trick and added an assist in the Red Eddies’ win over the Bulldogs. Trey Coulombe had one goal and two assists. Jack keefe and Campbell Cassidy had a purpose and an aid. Christian Mathieu also scored. Gauge Some charm and Camren Dufour combined to make four saves in the win.

Henri cossaboom scored in the first period for the Bulldogs with Hunter’s Temple register an assist. Ryan becker made 24 saves in the loss.

Sean Moore Mount Ararat

Mont Ararat / Lisbon / Morse 4, Marshwood / Traip / Sanford / Noble 1

Sean moore made 33 saves to lead the Eagles to a 4-1 win over the Knighthawks. Bryce poulin and Dylan richards scored two goals each. Alex witwicki, Jameson Hunter, Will dudley, Johnny hole and Tristen Cloutier potted an assist.

Caden Fontaine gave the Knighthawks a 1-0 lead in the first period. Summer wood stopped 22 shots.

South Portland / Freeport / Waynflete 4 Lewiston 1

Dylan Hannan factored in three goals for the Red Riots when he had one goal and two assists. Richie gilboy scored two power play goals and Jake udomsay also scored for the Red Riots. Evan knowlton scored in the second period for Lewiston.

Colby Bilodeau Thornton Academy

Thornton Academy 4 St. Dom’s 3

Alex Saint-Jean scored twice for the Golden Trojans in a home and back victory over the Saints. Colby Bilodeau scored a goal and contributed with an assist in the victory. Kyle Lesieur scored a shorthanded goal for Thornton. Arvid Andersson, Colin Cassidy, and Curtis wheeler marked for St. Dom’s.

Bobby Fothergill Windham / Bonny Eagle

Windham / Westbrook / Bonny Eagle 2, Marshwood / Traip / Sanford / Noble 1

Wear Krause made 27 saves for the Trail Blazers in a win over the Knighthawks. Bobby fothergill scored once and got an assist. Aiden hartwell also scored. Cole Washburn, Logan Caron and Lucus Laforest ah help each.

Braden butler scored for the Knighthawks and Summer wood made 24 stops.

Class A / B

Brunswick 10, Mt. Ararat / Lisbon / Morse 1

Sam Massé and AJ Wolverton each scored twice for the Dragons in a 10-1 win over the Eagles. Ollie bateman had a goal and an assist. Jake reeves, Kennedy eddy, Dolan pols, James bowen, and Joe marro had a goal each. Sid pols, Zach Stern Hayes and Sam cassidy got two assists.

Luke Patterson and Alex arnold combined to make nine saves in the win.

Class B

Cape Elizabeth 4, Greely 2

Colin blackburn scored twice to lead the Capers to a victory over Rangers. Sébastien Moon also scored with Dimitri Coupé. Rylan haight and Evan Dutil scored for the Rangers.

Will Depke made 16 saves in the win as Keji Wiessner stopped 40 shots.

Orono / Old Town 2, Presque Isle 1

Connor mccannell and Adam henderson scored power-play goals for the Black Bears in a Class B North showdown with the Wildcats. Bureau en Gros d’Issac gave Presque Isle a 1-0 in the first period. Ethan Carlisle had help. McCannell’s goal was scored in the first period. Henderson’s goal came in the second period.

Rowen Fremouw stopped 25 shots for Orono / Old Town and Connor bell made 26 saves.

Khaleb Hale Hampden Acad.

Hampden Academy 8, Kennebec Riverhawks 0

Keith brooks scored twice and added an assist for the Broncos in the shutout win over the Riverhawks. Khaleb hale scored one goal and two assists in the victory. Morgan tash, Matt Shayne, Cam Henderson, and Nik bates had a goal and an assist. Andre Crouse also scored for Hampden Academy.

Aaron Donavan and Trenton Zetes combined for the shutout stopping all nine shots. Wyatt attic made 51 saves in the loss.
