Man reports sighting of ‘black puma’ near busy highway

A man traveling on the M6 reported a “black puma” sighting.

The witness, called Phil, told Puma Watch he saw the black cat in a field as he was driving on the highway, where the M6 meets the M56 and A50.

He claims the sighting took place around 4 p.m. on Saturday 23 October and he believes it was stalking sheep, Cheshire Live reports.

Phil said: “I came out of the M6 Lymm junction – I was heading north at that point.

“To my left, in a field, I saw a big black cat lying on its stomach, like cats do when they wait to pounce on something.

“I suspect he was interested in sheep.

“He had a long black tail. Definitely bigger than a normal cat.

Puma Watch has reported other big cat sightings on this stretch of highway, including behind Costco in Chester in May this year and near Chester’s services in Elton in June.

Sightings of large cats were also reported near the highway in Frodsham, with CCTV footage capturing a mysterious creature running 50 yards in seconds in April this year.

In early February 2021, Puma Watch also reported that a panther had been sighted along the Manchester Ship Canal in Warrington.
