Fayetteville beat Bentonville last week to enter the Top 5. Other than that, only one other Top 25 team has lost. This week’s slate features a lot of big games with ranked teams, so there could be some movement next week.
See the SBLive Arkansas Week 8 power rankings below.
1. Bryant (6-1)
The Hornets start the gauntlet of three 7A-Central Conference title contenders with a tough game against Cabot No.4 on Friday night.
2. Conway (6-1)
The Wampus Cats are atop the undefeated 7A-Central standings with Bryant and play two less difficult games (including Little Rock Central this week) before ending up with the Hornets in the regular season finale.
3. North Little Rock (6-1)
The Charging Wildcats must beat a team from Fort Smith Northside, which had Conway on the ropes last week, for a chance to share a conference title.
4. Cabot (6-1)
The Panthers haven’t lost at home this season and would like to keep that streak intact as they keep hopes of sharing a living conference crown.
5. Fayetteville (5-2)
The Bulldogs’ three-game march to the 7A-West title begins with Springdale this week.
6. Christian Shiloh (6-1)
The Saints haven’t lost to Elkins (6-0) since 1993, but after falling 21 points behind last year, only to win by 21, it’s a safe bet the Elks have their attention when it comes to this go-around.
7. Pulaski Academy (6-1)
Bruins can take big step towards securing another 5A-Central Conference crown with victory over Little Rock West rival Little Rock Christian – a rematch of state-class championship games 5A of the past three years, in which the Bruins are 2-1. .
8. Bentonville (5-2)
The Tigers are unlikely to win a 7A-West Conference title after losing to Fayetteville last week, but they will be favored to win and make a playoff run.
9. Lake Hamilton (7-0)
Lake Hamilton will have no problem with Van Buren, who lost starting quarterback Bryce Perkins for the season, this week as he prepares for a home showdown with Benton next week.
10. Benton (6-1)
The Panthers are on a tough straight streak with Greenwood at home this week and Lake Hamilton on the road next week with the 6A-West title up for grabs.
11. Jonesboro (5-2)
If hurricane can get past Searcy, who has shown flashes of brilliance, this week they will play Sylvan Hills next week for the 5A-East crown in what could be one of the flagship games of the year.
12. Little Rock Christian (6-1)
The Warriors are looking to snatch a three-game losing streak at Pulaski Academy after losing in the Class 5A State Championship game in 2019 and a sweep last year in the regular season and in the title game – all two with large margins.
13. FS Northside (5-2)
The Grizzlies must beat North Little Rock on Friday to claim a spot in the top echelon of 7A-Central.
14. Little Rock Parkview (4-3)
After running the elite 6A-West glove, the Patriots feasted on a struggling Van Buren team last week and hosted 3-4 Russellville on Thursday night.
15. Green wood (5-2)
The Bulldogs recovered quarterback Hunter Houston last week, but lost running back Jake Glover with a season-ending ankle injury, making a game at Benton on Friday even more difficult.
16. Wynne (6-1)
The Yellowjackets will face Paragould this week and Forrest City next week before meeting Nettleton for the 5A-East Conference title.
17. Clean Room (6-2)
The Bulldogs hope to retain the number 2 seed in the 5A-Central Conference with a victory over Maumelle. Maumelle’s 3-5 record is misleading.
18. Eldorado (5-2)
The Wildcats hope to give Sylvan Hills their first league loss and consolidate as a No.2 seed in the 6A-East.
19. Vilonia (7-0)
The Eagles are expected to deal with enemies 5A-West Alma and Morrilton over the next two weeks, setting up a showdown with Greenbrier in two weeks.

The Cardinals must beat Greenbrier to stay in the 5A-West Conference shared title race.
21. Greenbrier (7-0)
The Panthers have home court advantage over the inexperienced but dangerous Cardinals this week as they hope to do their part to set up a showdown with Vilonia in two weeks.

A dangerous El Dorado side is preventing the Bears from preparing for a big game with 6A East Conference title implications with Jonesboro next week.
23. Warren (6-1)
The Lumberjacks take on their rival Monticello and take one step closer to another 8-4A Conference title.
24. Joe T. Robinson (6-1)
The Senators are unlikely to be challenged by Bauxite this week, but could face their toughest test of the year, other than the opening loss to Pulaski Academy in undefeated Ashdown next week.
25. Stuttgart (6-1)
Two weeks ago, the game at Little Rock Mills this week looked like a big game, but after the Comets lost two games in a row and running back Jabrae Shaw is still healing an ankle injury, the game has lost its luster.
