Taylor Swift is officially adding another acting role to her repertoire.
The first official trailer for David O. Russell’s ‘original romantic crime epic’, amsterdamfinally offers a first look at Swift’s character in the film.
His appearance comes at 2:09 a.m., amidst a host of glittering Hollywood stars. She can be seen wearing 1930s hair and makeup while staring sadly off-screen.
The film is set in “a quirky and mysterious world in the 1930s”, according to Variety.
The trailer shows three friends (played by Margot Robbie, Christian Bale and John David Washington) swearing to always protect themselves before they are framed for murder in 1930s Amsterdam, where they uncover other mysteries while trying to escape the charges against them.
“A lot of stuff actually happened,” the trailer teases. “Three friends changed the course of American history.”
The trailer comes after news broke in 2021 of Swift’s involvement in a yet-to-be-released Russell film.
The film also stars Rami Malek, Anya Taylor-Joy, Zoe Saldaña, Mike Myers, Chris Rock, Robert De Niro and more.
Another trailer that premiered at CinemaCon in April showed Swift’s character crying over the corpse of the character’s father.
Swift has already appeared in a number of films, like her during her turn in the infamous 2019 Cats 2012s live action film and her voice role The Loraxwith Zac Efron.
She also made a splash in the 2010 romantic comedy Valentine’s day (which triggered Taylor Squared, IYKYK) and made an appearance in 2009 Hannah Montana: The Moviewhere she performed her song “Crazier”.
